It felt impossible to believe that “all bodies are good bodies” when I was suffering from an active eating disorder. Despite all my skepticism and the overwhelming odds, the team at Nourishment Works helped me truly internalize this belief. I can say from experience now that there is a whole world beyond obsessing over food, and it’s better than I ever could have imagined when I was sick. My eating disorder led me to think that a “perfect” body was all I needed to finally enjoy life, but my providers at Nourishment Works taught me how to accept (and even love!) my body while releasing my negative self-image.

Individual Sessions

An individual nutritional session involves a supportive, safe and brave setting for exploring and inspiring a new way to nourish yourself and navigate your food environment. 

The first meeting is generally an hour with follow-up visits as needed. Together, we will do the work it takes to develop a path that suits your individual personal care goals. As part of our work together, homework assignments may be offered to expand your learning. 

We work with adolescents and adults in areas including:  

  • Diabetes care and management from a weight neutral approach

  • Recovery from disordered eating, dieting, and other related food issues

  • Step down recovery counseling for eating disorders 

  • Skill building such as mindful and attuned eating practices

  • Unpack and unlearn diet culture

  • Appetite awareness training

  • Attuned living and nourishment

  • Non-diet approach to well-being

  • Body image & image management concerns 

  • Pleasure positive fitness & lifestyle movement

Groups

Ever find yourself feeling stuck, alone, unsupported and lacking follow through? Are you ready to lessen the load and join others working together to recover from dieting? Groups are a powerful method for healing and transformation. They are an affordable way to incorporate a dynamic addition to your health goals or recovery work.  Our groups are designed for individuals aspiring to live free from yo-yo dieting and disordered eating. 

 

In-person, Telehealth & Phone Sessions

We are currently offering limited in-person sessions. Due to COVID-19 we continue to offer sessions via Zoom and phone. All you will need is Zoom downloaded on your computer along with a video camera set up to your computer. Zoom is free to download and HIPAA secure. Before your session, you will receive a link with a meeting ID. This is a great way to continue your work. Phone sessions are also offered. Just let us know what works best for you!

 

Cooking Classes

“I have always felt a pull towards nourishing and delicious foods. Cooking has been a hobby of mine since childhood.  I have had formal training in constructing meals, however, I am not a trained chef.  My love of food, nutrition and cooking inspired me to become a dietitian. I have found the entire process, from gathering the ingredients to doing the dishes, to be an enjoyable and connecting series of steps. I invite you to join me in taking a mindful walk through each step.
