about
vision & values
At Nourishment Works, our vision is grounded in providing inclusive, ethical, and thoughtful therapy and nutrition care across Illinois. As a Chicago-based group practice, our licensed therapists and registered dietitians support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, body image concerns, and eating-related distress.
The mission of Nourishment Works is to empower individuals to achieve their full potential, accept valued roles within their communities, and lead rich, rewarding lives rooted in agency, connection, and self-compassion. We are committed to enhancing, connecting, and educating our community through compassionate body reclamation work. Through a non-judgmental, inclusive approach to health and well-being, we aim to inform and inspire our clients and the broader community.
Our Values in Practice
At Nourishment Works, we believe people deserve care that honors their full humanity. Mental health and well-being are shaped by lived experience, relationships, culture, and systems, not just symptoms. Our work reflects this understanding.
We are committed to providing therapy and nutrition care that is inclusive, ethical, and nonjudgmental. We center autonomy, dignity, and respect, and we aim to create a space where clients can explore their experiences without pressure to fix, change, or perform.
Body Reclamation and Non-Diet Care
A core value of Nourishment Works is body reclamation. We support clients in rebuilding trust with their bodies through care that is weight-neutral and grounded in Health at Every Size® and intuitive eating principles. We do not pursue weight loss as a treatment goal and actively work to reduce harm caused by diet culture and weight stigma.
Collaborative and Reflective Care
Although we work individually with clients, we function as a collaborative team. Clinicians consult regularly and draw on shared knowledge, training, and perspectives. This model strengthens care and allows clients to benefit from collective clinical support.
Ongoing Learning and Community Engagement
We are committed to continued learning, accountability, and reflection. This includes examining bias, challenging dominant narratives around health and bodies, and supporting ethical practice through supervision, training, and mentorship. We believe education and community engagement are essential to meaningful, sustainable care.
