Nutrition Counseling
“It felt impossible to believe that “all bodies are good bodies” when I was suffering from an active eating disorder. Despite all my skepticism and the overwhelming odds, the team at Nourishment Works helped me truly internalize this belief. I can say from experience now that there is a whole world beyond obsessing over food, and it’s better than I ever could have imagined when I was sick. My eating disorder led me to think that a “perfect” body was all I needed to finally enjoy life, but my providers at Nourishment Works taught me how to accept (and even love!) my body while releasing my negative self-image.”
Individual Nutrition Counseling Sessions
Individual nutrition counseling provides a supportive, collaborative space to explore nourishment, health, and your relationship with food. Our registered dietitians take a weight-inclusive, non-diet approach to help clients build sustainable skills, reduce food-related stress, and develop patterns that support overall well-being.
Early sessions typically focus on intake and assessment, allowing your dietitian to understand your history, current concerns, and personal nutrition goals. Follow-up sessions are scheduled as appropriate to support ongoing progress. Together, we create a personalized plan that fits your values, lifestyle, and health needs. Between sessions, practical homework or skill-building practices may be offered to support learning and real-world application.
We work with adolescents and adults in areas including:
Diabetes care and management using a weight-neutral approach
Recovery from disordered eating, chronic dieting, and food-related distress
Step-down nutrition support for eating disorder recovery
Building skills for mindful, attuned, and flexible eating
Appetite awareness and hunger/fullness attunement
Unlearning diet culture and weight stigma
Body image concerns and relationship with food
Non-diet approaches to health and well-being
Attuned living, nourishment, and self-care
Pleasure-positive movement and lifestyle support
Our dietitians focus on helping clients develop confidence, trust, and consistency around eating—supporting long-term well-being rather than short-term fixes.
